Phelan Recognized in Virginia for Two of the Largest Settlements in 2010

In one of our more difficult cases, the Law Offices of Michael G. Phelan, P.C., working with a Virginia co-council was able to achieve a settlement of $1,500,000 for a man who became severely depressed following a commercial vehicle crash. The victim had pre-existing learning disabilities and borderline functional ability. With a strong strategy and tenacity for our client, this case ended with a mediated settlement of $1,5 million  - one of the two cases our firm handled last year that was listed among the largest settlements in Virginia in 2010.

In the second high stakes litigation case, the firm and a co-counsel achieved a $1,250,000 settlement for a woman who suffered a mild traumatic brain injury in a low-speed automobile crash.  The victim had a constellation of pre-existing neurologic problems which the defense contended were the source of all of her post-crash problems. By acting thoughtfully and aggressively on her behalf the law offices of Michael G. Phelan were able to secure for her a large settlement, one of the largest in Virginia for 2010.
